The Passion of The Christ…Equanimity of Jesus and Mother Mary

The movie The Passion of the Christ, is based on the final 12 hours in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. The movie is entirely shot in Aramaic language, an ancient language spoken by Jesus. Jesus is known for compassion and personally feel Passion is not the right word to be used but thats just my personal view. The movie is one of the most authentic portrayal on circumstances and events leading to Crucifixion of Jesus.

The right word will be Equanimity. The Equanimity shown by Jesus and Mother Mary ” The Holiest of all the mothers in this Universe” is one of the greatest display of equanimity as an attribute known in observable universe.

Equanimity is one of the ten perfections described to have been attained by Gautama before he became Buddha. Equanimity is the mental calmness, serenity and tranquility of the mind in-spite of everything around you falling apart. The last few hours of Jesus is the undoubtedly one of the greatest displays of Equanimity shown by anyone on this planet. There are many instances in life of Buddha including three times when Devdatta made attempts to kill Buddha but there not an ounce of fear or anxiety on Buddha.

I will try to release the article before 4 am tomorrow since tomorrow is Buddha Purnima and a very holy day for me. I should be meditating and mindfulness for long hours tomorrow.

Under the title of EQUANIMITY, I would write series of articles on many other spiritual masters /divine beings. These would include instances from lives of Guru Gobind Singh, Master Kong” Confucius”, Moses, Swami Vivekananda, Ven Xuanzang and many more to highlight spiritual awareness in terms of equanimity. The articles would be based on what I have read and my interpretation.
